We are proud to welcome Kurt Hawkins, the newest IT Support Technician, to the GPT team!
Kurt has amassed almost two decades of experience as a technician within the IT world. As an IT Technician on the GPT team, he is responsible for maintaining technical support for GPT’s main office computers, printers, phones and electrical equipment. He also is tasked with the crucial responsibility of assembling and installing new telehealth carts for GPT clients and partners. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, updating and supporting any telehealth carts located at a GPT site.
Kurt’s role goes beyond technical support of our equipment. He works to create relationships with partners, clients and medical personnel that rely on our telehealth carts at our sites. He communicates with GPT’s liaisons to help support clients and partners in the field. Kurt has a great familiarity with GPT’s local network infrastructure, ensuring reliability to our customer base.
Kurt’s career as an IT Technician began in 1994, when he was hired by Milliken & Company as a Machine Operator and quickly promoted to the role of Quality Control Technician. He earned his degree in Computer Information Systems from Okefenokee Technical College while working at Milliken & Company. Kurt spent a decade as an integral part of their IT Support staff. After leaving Milliken & Company, Kurt briefly shifted his career focus working as an Assistant Store Manager and Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, where he gained valuable insight on customer service best practices.
In addition to his full-time career, Kurt founded Hawkeye’s Computer Service, a computer support business, in 2009.
In Kurt’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, Tinker and Leah. Kurt also enjoys bass fishing, working on old cars, computers and learning new things.
