Health disparities, most often associated with urban ethnic and racial populations, persist in rural America at astonishing levels. This is due, in part, to the fact that rural residents are typically older, poorer, and have fewer physicians to care for them. Georgia Partnership for Telehealth, Inc. was formed to promote improvements in healthcare and healthcare facilities throughout the State of Georgia by assisting in the establishment of telemedicine programs. The use of these programs drastically reduces the service barriers that exist for patients who live in rural Georgia at great distances from hospitals and other medical facilities. Your donations will be used to expand these services further across rural Georgia by providing equipment, education, and training in hospitals and healthcare facilities that administer telemedicine programs, thereby improving access to care.
